This is just a place for things that I think it might be useful to write down and put somewhere.

Rather amazed to find that the house is much bigger than we remembered - the porch alone could sleep two with ease, being about as big as a lot of the "double bedrooms" we have seen. The dining room, where we thought our blue rug would cover the bare area of floor, is at least twice the size we thought and our rug will be dwarfed. The living room isn't small either, and we have not the first idea how we are going to lay out our two sofas and one TV. If we had any desire for a pool table, there is space for a couple once the sofas are in... Still we are looking foward to scrubbing the kitchen this weekend, and chasing the snails out of the shed.

It turns out we exchanged contracts on our new house on Friday, although we were unaware of this at the time. Where were the congratulatory phone calls from the estate agent? We had terrific fun with cardboard boxes on Saturday in ignorance of this. If you want motivation to pack things, buy shiny new boxes.
